With nearly 20 years experience in philanthropy, advocacy, technology, and government, I’ve been privileged to craft breakthrough communication strategy, direct award-winning campaigns, and build inclusive, high-impact teams for major brands, leading philanthropists & nonprofits, and two U.S. presidents. I currently lead digital communications for Pivotal Ventures, a company founded by Melinda French Gates to accelerate social progress by removing barriers that hold people back.
I previously led executive, philanthropic and brand digital communications for Chobani, a food-focused wellness company and America’s #1 yogurt brand. In this role I supported Chobani founder & CEO Hamdi Ulukaya and also provided communications strategy for his personal philanthropy, the Tent Partnership for Refugees. Before joining Chobani, I built and led a digital team as deputy director of communications at the Clinton Foundation. I also previously served as a presidential appointee in the Obama administration, supporting key White House initiatives while leading communications and digital teams within the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
My journey to the Obama administration started with a passion for digital organizing and social impact. As a senior manager of campaigns and communications at Change.org, I directed the strategies behind several of the most popular petitions launched on the global platform for citizen activism. This included a 13-month national campaign that rallied 2 million people to push the Boy Scouts of America to end its policy banning gay youth.
Prior to Change.org, I served as a campaign manager at CREDO Mobile, where I led national and state-based LGBTQ issue campaigns and organized more than 175 district meetings with key congressional leaders. I had also previously managed digital marketing and social media strategy at the LGBTQ Victory Fund, the only national organization dedicated to changing America’s politics by electing LGBTQ leaders. In 2008, I served as field organizer for Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s congressional re-election campaign, helping secure a 20% margin of victory in New York's 20th congressional district.
I received a B.A. in communications and political science from the University of Iowa. A midwest native and enthusiast, the place I've most recently called home is San Francisco, California.
